Catterpillar Love Story Part1

I.
Sir Caterpillar was in love
With the most beautiful Prince around
Prince Rose
Was lovely and red
With morning dew
Sparkling upon his petals
And so Sir Caterpillar just couldn't help himself
His love was so deep
And so whole-hearted that he wanted to keep Prince Rose
All to himself
At first Prince Rose
Enjoyed the attention
That Sir Caterpillar gave
He found tenderness in watching
Sir Caterpillar sleeping so close
On his leaves
Sharing the wonderfully lazy feeling one gets
When lying beneath the warm spring sun
With a lover close by
But eventually things changed
Prince Rose was just so lovely
That others began to take notice
And they would covet the prince for themselves
This angered Sir Caterpillar
But because these other creatures
Were much bigger in comparision to Sir Caterpillar
He had no way of fending them off
So one night
Before the Prince bloomed to the waking sun
Sir Caterpillar rather than sleep
Thought of a most brillinat plan
He loved Prince Rose so much
That he could not bear to see anyone else love him
So Sir Caterpillar decided
That since there was no way to scare the creatures away
He would just have to make sure
That Prince Rose
Would become attainable only to him
So when the morning dawned
Sir Caterpillar mosied on up the stem
To where Prince Rose was awakening
Prince Rose greeted his love warmly
But before they could enjoy their day of lazy sunshine
Sir Caterpillar did something that he had never before done
He began to gnaw away
At the Prince
"Stop it!"
Prince Rose cried out
"You're hurting me"
But Sir Catterpillar would not stop
He loved Prince Rose too much
And could not bear to see
Other creatures coveting his beloved
By the end of the day
Prince Rose was nearly gone
Only a few red petals remained
Clinging helplessly to the stem
When Sir Caterpillar realized what he had done
He became wrought with despair
But for a month
No one came by
And while Sir Caterpillar was lonely
He was content in knowing
That no one else
Had Prince Rose
Well many months passed
And one day when the sun rose again
Brilliant and warm
Prince Rose bloomed once more
Sir Caterpillar had been waiting for this though
And so he scrunched up over to the stem and began to climb
But there was something different this time
As Sir Caterpillar began to climb
He found himself blocked by nasty looking thorns
This caused Sir Caterpillar great anger
And he yelled at Prince Rose
"Why are you preventing me from
Coming to you?"
Sir Caterpillar demanded to know
"Because,"
Came the beautiful Prince's voice
"You ate me away
Until I nearly died
So now you are no longer permitted to
Climb up to me
Any longer"
This infuirated Sir Caterpillar
Now not only was he not allowed
To laze around with his love
But now he could not protect Prince Rose
From those scary creatures
Who coveted him as well
So Sir Caterpillar went away
With bitterness in his heart
